Fermanagh-born, Glasgow-based singer-songwriter Peter McMahon’s music blends the many genres of his varied upbringing, merging folk, classical, indie rock, Irish traditional and musical theatre into a mix that emphasizes the storytelling strengths of each. Thoughtful lyrics, catchy melodies and lush harmonies are the through line within his varied work.
A strong vocalist and pianist, his intimate performances combine years of singing irish trad ballads and choral training to tell stories about the human condition, and the world as it could be. He performs regularly between Glasgow/Dublin, with recent highlights being a sold out headline show in Little Whelans, and the Royal Albert Hall at the Music For Youth Proms, pictured above.
